Happy Halloween/Samhain

The word Halloween means hallowed evening; hallowed meaning sacred.

It is a time when the veils between the realms are thin. And we can connect the ancestors who have passed.  In my Native heritage the ancestors and their wisdom are honored always as ones to aid us.

Thus in the Celtic Samhain celebration the dead were honored not feared. Knowing they are just on another level of existence.  Death was not seen as a negative but as change. A time of community and celebration where the new ones born during the year were formally introduced into their community.

It was custom to leave food for the elders or for the fairy so they would not pull pranks, hence the “trick or treat”. In other traditions costumes and mischief making singing and dancing was the way of this night and they would go door to door offering prayers for treats.

Jack-o'-lantern comes from British origins and means man with a lantern.  Also called will o’ the wisp which refers to the neat flickers of light in wetlands at night said to be fairy or ghost  pranking. So, such has an appropriate place in the Halloween celebrations where they are generally outdoors lit by candles. 

Bobbing for apples has been seen in many ways but one that I think is neat. It was said that If one caught an apple when bobbing for apples they were to peel it carefully and to slowly circle their head with the peel thrice and then throw it over their head.  The letter shape that appeared would be the first initial of the individuals’ true love.

No matter how you look at the day be it from a stand point of ancient traditions or of a day of fun and merriment. Let it be one of joy.

May the ancestors deliver blessings on you and yours...

May the new year bear great fruits for you...

May your granted wishes be as many as the seeds in a pomegranate...

May the memories of what has been keep you strong for what is to be...

May this Samhain cleanse your heart, your soul, and your mind!

Happy New moon, October 23, 2014!!!!

This month is full of some amazing things and now in this new moon cycle we have a partial solar eclipse.  The new moon is all about new beginnings the death of what does not serve us and allowing what does.

Go into this new cycle with lots of determination!  You may find yourself dealing with some things of a spiritual matter.  Those things that do not flow with you need to slip away.  You many find yourself looking at things in a whole new way and saying no that does not work for me and I don’t care who knows it.  Its okay you don’t need to follow each new spiritual trend/ the crowd.  Honor your truth.

See the harmonious balance that can be in free will and our spiritual life.

Bravely go forth and be who you are and let love lead the way.

Ohhh what excitement you may find yourself crossing what were before boundaries and feeling free and light and ready to take on the world. And you will excel!

Happy Full moon, October 8, 2014!!!!

 Here are some of the names for this moon depending on where you are in the world:  Harvest Moon, Hunter’s Moon, blood moon, Egg Moon, Fish Moon, Seed Moon, Pink Moon, Waking Moon…

What a most spectacular moon phase this one is.  You may have felt it before the full moon even. You could feel a powerful release of things that have affected you far too long.  So this also means staring into the face of the darker parts of self and letting go. But with this amazing cycle this is not a trying process.  You should feel much lighter. The things that have bound you for so long are going, going…

To add to the awesomeness we are having a full lunar eclipse.  This is really groovy as the moon looks red.  Many who have felt a need to hide for various reasons will now feel very liberated.

As if that is not cool enough we are going to be having draconoid meteor showers on the 7th and 8th so look out for them and night fall. 

Can you feel the awesome cosmic charge that is happening now? It is electric! This can find you looking at life in a new way with hope and excitement and passion!

Obsidan: A strong protection stone, good to release imbalances and negativity;opens us to true self.

Amethyst: It is to help  balance one's thinking, it can help with peace, love courage and healing in ones life. 

Tourmaline: it is said to have traveled all along the rainbow and thus why it comes in all colors of the rainbow.  Helpful to body and spirit and a wonderful talisman for writers and artists.

Retrograde and solar eclipse and Halloween oh my!!!

Ah this October is going to be full of excitement, beginning on the 4^th til the 24^th with Mercury going retrograde.  For 3 weeks Libra is in Virgo so there is an awesome love vibe going on.

Remember retrogrades are super powerful times. Your gifts will be so totally on high amazing things can come to you.  Do all in love, and observing all well.

Where things can get super intense is for those ready to move forward and release the things that do not serve them.  Embrace it and let it flow!

Artistic and creative types of things will flow easily so keep them coming. They do have a most amazing place in the universe.

The Solar eclipse will fall on the 23^rd. Let this eclipse free you of limitations and free the absolute amazing gifts you possess.

Remember sometimes the universe gives us a little push and says hey you can do anything so rock it. So trust that and fearlessly go out into the world and shine!!!

Ohhh ohhh and its Halloween month too!!!  If you love Halloween as much as I; you will be finding ways to celebrate the whole month! And why not a time when the veils between the realms are thin and you can feel more connected.  How groovy is that!

Happy New moon, September 23, 2014!!!!

This moon is in Libra. Ahhh this is a lovely influence of harmony and peace and working together. To talk to others in the most positive ways for the best outcomes.  Balance how we are to self and how we are to others.

The big thing to look for is change. Be it in new ideas coming, healings, and new ways of looking at things.  Those lingering negatives that have held on are now free to leave.  Pluto going direct is creating this shift and thus with it a huge energy shift.

See how the seeds of the past manifested and what they mean for you now.  You are evolving more and more.

Happy Full harvest moon, September 9, 2014!!!!

Here are many of the names of the moon depending on where in the world you live: Fruit Moon, Harvest Moon, Worm Moon, Lenten Moon, Crow Moon, Sugar Moon, Chaste Moon, Sap Moon…

This moon is in Pisces so the influence is gentleness, serenity, creativity, that sense of wonder no matter what.  The vibe of “Don’t worry be happy.” Things will improve, they are supergroovyawesome!

And a super moon at that! (moon close to Mother Earth)

Wow what a power packed moon is this!!! This moon opens us up to being our best self. Mind you this can come in many ways.  What do we need to do to be our best self? Maybe heal, or make peace with things, or do better… no matter what it is the Universe is here to guide you.

Part of that can also be bringing you closer to your life calling. So the things that benefit it most can begin to grow in you; Maybe compassion for one.  This is all emphasized by the star Achernar. So do not be surprised to see your best attributes come forth.

Chiron is also prominent in this cycle so you could be letting go of all you need to. Relax its all for the better. For you to allow in the things you desire. So let the healing flow.  Nature and love are some of the strongest forces in healing. Love I would put at the top of the list.
