Happy New moon, Friday 27, 2014!!!!

This moon is in Cancer. The primary focus is relationships and more so how we communicate with others.  Now is a time to really work on these communications.   Cancer is a rather emotional sign and thus the giving and receiving of affection and love need to flow. It has to be a two-sided thing; giving and receiving.  This is where peace and harmony and love can thrive.

There is the influence of Mars and Uranus with aggression and radical behavior.  This can be dealt with by focusing on the flow of giving and receiving our best to one another and/ or looking at the positive influences of these impulsive signs like taking a chance; doing something out of your comfort zone and celebrating it!

There is also going to be that mirror effect now where we can truly see what we need to work through to attain our life goals/purpose.

No matter the influences out there at any given time we can prevail and be our best.  Anything is possible if we are truly convinced. Like that stone in the rough that still cannot hide its beauty or that heart that has been through a lot and keeps on giving.

Key words:  nurturing, strength, impulsiveness

 Affirmations:
Today is a brand new day and I wipe the slate clean and begin anew.
I release old patterns that do no serve me.
I shine well even in dark times.

Happy Midsummer summer solstice, Litha!

Today is the first day of Summer when the forces of fertility, growth and love are strongest. The flowers are in bloom, fertility of our Mother Earth is high and from the most ancient of times many peoples and many paths have honored this day. As Nature was understood highly for the lessons and blessings and still is by many.

Some will jump over bonfires to encourage this fertility, and blessings and health.  When the fire went out the ashes would be collected and either worn in a pouch or a charm made of clay and the ash for protection.

And thus this is a good time to put out your intent in whatever way you so choose; ritual, prayer, affirmations; for health, and love and protection.

It is said that if you stay up all night on Midsummer’s eve in a circle of rocks then you might see fairies.

In Ireland it is believed that if you have a wish you desire to come true you “give it to the pebble”. This means that as you circle the bonfire on the third time around you whisper your wish as you throw the pebble into the fire.

Some created sun wheels which is a wheel made of have that was lit on fire and rolled down the hill to land in the river. If the fire went out before it got to the river it was symbolic of a good growing season.

In Egypt paper boats where filled with flowers and set on fire and allowed to float down the river to carry their prayers to divine.

Native Americans do the Sun Dance which they prepare for it for days to honor the sun as a symbol of the Great Spirit.

"Prayer for the Garden
Small plants, leaves and buds,
growing in the soil.
O fiery sun, may your rays of
light and warmth
bless us with abundance,
and allow these plants to blossom
with life."

Mercury retrograde June 7th 2014

Another Mercury retrograde is upon us. This one begins in Cancer which is rather nurturing. So you will feel that vibe as well as  the usual retrograde stirrings. Akin to the influences of this past new moon with its union of opposites.

Some see retrogrades as negative.  I actually do not. As the universe does not  go out of its way to create conflict for us. But life is about being flexible and flowing with the river. So keep that flow and see what exciting things happen.

This cycle will be with us from the 7th of June til the 1st of July. And  can be a time of great creativity and a boundless harvest of things into our life. especially on July 17th when Mercury goes back into Gemini. Old patterns can be released. Like a rebirth a newness can arise as the phoenix reborn out of the flames. a rather powerful purifying time.

Watch well your emotions and know that it is the intense cosmic flow that you are feeling and enjoy it you are wide open so let it help you not hinder you.

Sooo happy retrograde all!!! Let the excitement begin!!! Ready set... enjoy!!!
