I could see peace in this situation instead of what I now see in it.

    I can replace my feelings of depression, anxiety or worry [or my thoughts about this situation, personality or event] with peace.

The glass of water

 

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they'd be asked the "half empty or half full" question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

She continued, "The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything."

Remember to put the glass down.

Heart of the soul meditation

"An old proverb tells the story of a person who repeated a rumor about a neighbor. Soon, the whole community had heard the rumor. Later, the person who spread the gossip learned that the rumor was untrue. He was very sorry and went to an elder in the community who had a reputation for great wisdom to seek advice. The elder told him, “Go to your home and take a feather pillow outside. Rip it open and scatter the feathers, then return to me tomorrow.” The man did as the elder had instructed.

The following day, he visited the elder. Returning to the elder, he admitted, “I could find none of the feathers I scattered yesterday.” “You see,” said the elder, “it‘s easy to scatter the feathers but impossible to get them back.” So it is with gossip; it doesn’t take much to spread hurtful words, but once you do, you can never completely undo the damage."

I love to find the spiritual in everything and fully believe that God gives us messages in various ways. One being the arts. what better way to impress upon others in an entertaining way and it be more accepted.

I love how this message comes about. There is a scroll in this movie that shows how Alice is to reach her destiny. She actually does reach it but not exactly as it was foretold. She had to follow her true path. And it may not be a paved out course of life but what the heart and soul knows. Our trueness.Being self and not accepting illusion, as ACIM tells us.

The lotus flower

There are stories and symbolism behind the lotus flower in many spiritual paths and heritages.

The color pink is said to be reflective of reaching our peak spiritually In Hindu. In Buddhism the white lotus symbolizes the state of Bodhi, peace and serenity, the red lotus symbolizes the heart-state of compassion and love, the blue lotus symbolizes wisdom, the pink lotus symbolizes the Buddha and enlightenment, the golden lotus symbolizes the worlds beyond this one on higher realms.

No matter the path the stories revolve around how a lotus grows from the dark murky waters to come forth as a beautiful water plant. Showing how beautiful things can emerge out of the darkness and grow into something awesome. So the lotus flower, has symbolism of one reaching high spiritual consciousness or enlightenment, sensuality, health, creation, after life, fertility. In Egypt the Lotus flower is called Sesen and a symbol of the sun.
